16 differnt possibilites...there are 8 children okay? it can either be a boy or girl so look at it this way...1st kid boy-1st kid girl, 2nd kid boy-2nd kid girl, 3rd kid boy-3rd kid girl, 4th kid boy-4th kid girl, 5th kid boy-5th kid girl, 6th kid boy-6th kid girl, 7th kid boy-7th kid girl, and 8th kid boy-8th kid girl...hope this helps you better understand.
