I think they should be charged with neglect. They neglected their daughter if not harmed her themselves which resulted in her dissapearance.

Pity for the couple just isn't enough in this case. They left three children unattended. That poor little girl.

A woman was charged recently with leaving her 14 year old daughter to go on holiday. her daughter was being over seen by her neighbours and no harm came to her. I am not condoning this but compare and contrast the situations....

What type of parents are Maddies parents????? Arrest them, interview them, charge them with NEGLECT as soon as their feet land on British soil!!!!!

And... for your information, i don't believe ONE word of what they say... I belive nothing at all...

They left their children unattended to go drinking in a bar. Hope they enjoyed their holiday!!! - I hope that little girl is found unharmed but the parents should have the rest of their children taken away from them..

Neglect in the britsh dictionary means : 1. to pay no attention or too little attention to; disregard or slight: So yes, 3 children were paid too little attention, or slight attention, as the parents were out in a resteraunt having a meal and wine !, so yes, fact, she/they were neglected. And kids that play in the playground are not 2 & 4 years old. Yes they are paying a price for it as the daughter has gone, but whos fault is it ? exactly. Lots of others in much less drastic situations have been prosecuted for it, so what the hell is going on here. (This fund raising is strange too with its family executors)

Let the courts decide. and I really hope they catch the person who took her.
I'm afraid your prejudice shows through. You've found them "guilty" either of neglect or of harming her. Just as well you're not on the jury.
But don't worry - there will be armies of social workers (with access to all the details of the case, not just those in the public domain via the Internet) who will be combing through the facts. And I'm glad of that. That's the way it should be.

You are quite wrong. They did not neglect her. If that is your reckoning, every parent who leaves their child out in the playground to play is guilty of neglect.

They were in the vicinity of the suite. The real criminals here are those that snatched the child. And they should be relentlessly hunted down. Children should be left alone whether they are in a Hotel bedroom or in the street. If found, they should be returned to their parents. By blaming the parents you give credence to those who think unattended children are free to take.

No. The real criminals should be found and it should be clear to all that children - or animals - should be free of the fear of being abducted or mistreated.

In my opinion, yes at the very least they should be charged with neglect for each time they left their children alone to go out by themselves. They have shown by that alone to be selfish, uncaring parents.
