Years ago I lived with my older brother and they had all kinds
of music. They had some record albums and a couple of them
was of Tom Paul & The Glaser Brothers. One of the songs on an album was, Trying to outrun the wind. I would like to find a
cd as no one has the means to play records these days.

*** EDIT: Tryin' To Outrun The Wind is available on CD at Amazon.com. It's on a double CD of those two albums they released in the early '80s, Lovin' Her Was Easier/After All This Time.

A terrific CD of Tompall and the Glaser Brothers greatest hits can be had on Amazon.com by typing in their name. I have it. It is supreme material. I got mine at Barnes & Noble. You might check there.

By far and away the five best songs Tompall and the Glaser Brothers put out were Streets Of Baltimore, (the first version, since Tompall wrote it,) California Girl, All That Keeps Ya Goin', Walk Unashamed and Rings, also a pop hit for a group called Cimeron. Each had a solo career, with Tompall appearing on the famous Outlaws album with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Jesse Coulter. He had several hits including T For Texas and Put Another Log On The Fire.

In the early '80s, the brothers reunited for a couple of albums which yielded some hits, one of which was a cover of Don Gibson's Just One Time, and another cover, of Kris Kristofferson's Loving Her Was Easier.

Chuck Glaser had a snazzy single sometime in the mid-seventies called Gypsy Queen. Darn good song.

And Jim Glaser has had four solo albums that I know of, three in the '80s and one in the '90s. His "Man In The Mirror" album, the CD of which includes the monster hit, "Lights Of Albuquerque," (the vinyl verson doesn't,) along with masterpieces If I Could Only Dance With You, You're Getting To Me Again, When You're Not A Lady, You Got Me Running and the title song is available on his website, www.jimglaser.com. Jim also co-wrote the hit, Woman, Woman, recorded by Gary Pucket and Union Gap in the late '60s, and before that, Jim was one of the two voices backing up Marty Robbins on the well-known El Paso.

Probably too much information... but have I heard of Tompall and the Glaser Brothers? They put out some of my favorite songs of all time.

A guy named Tompall Glaser did the famous Put Another Log on the Fire. That and T for Texas are on a real good compilation of Waylon, Willie, and Jessie Colter, called
Wanted! The Outlaws...
Wikipedia has got a bit on him.

And so does CMT. Looks like discography there too.

Hope this helps.
Oh, and the above album was done in 76 I think Wikipedia said, but there is a rereleased disc that has a great version of Willie and Waylon doing Steve Earle's Nowhere Rd. I like it better than Earle's.
