Interrupting people means you're not listening - you're busy thinking of your response. Force yourself to slow your mind down and focus - learn to listen. It's a very valuable skill and who knows, you might even learn something along the way. I have ~

Okay, try this. Every time you part take in your bad habit, take a machete, and cut your self. LOL JK

Human nature = Habits, and habitualness. You cannot really EVER beat it. It will always reside with you...though it does get unnoticed. What you could do is TRY to be a better listener. It doesn't seem to be a habit, but rather nosiness/annoyingness.

YOU WILL NOT CHANGE A BEHAVIOR UNLESS YOU HAVE THE WILL TO DO SO. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT CHANGING THE HABIT OF INTERRUPTING OTHERS TRY THIS: ASK OTHERS HOW THE BEHAVIOR EFFECTS THEM. DO THEY RESENT IT? THAT SHOULD PROVIDE YOU WITH SOME INSIGHT AND MOTIVATION.

repeat this pharse,
"i'm sorry I interrupted you, go ahead"
then shut up for 5 minutes.
you can change bad habits by substituting good habits.

sounds familiar. habits diehard! effort and concentration is the hallmark. just tell yourself quietly keep my mouth shut. my mouth shut and shut and shut. it will sink into u soon. its tough but u hv to try. always look at the persons eye and see if your comments r needed. if not, shut shut shut! its the left brain telling the right brain to do so. so its discipline and being in control. take care
