We all need to learn patience and compassion, especially here in YA.
People will respond to some questions with emotion that may not be appropriate or sensitive. Some people have a shorter fuse with some questions, particularly ones that seem to push a specific button of theirs.
Not everyone is rude all the time (I've been known to be a little brusque now and then myself).
Plus, realize that these days some people are not able to express themselves in written form very well - the tone of the words chosen, the abbreviations, the lack of punctuation, can all create a perception that can appear rude (and may not be intended that way).
We all need to respect each others opinions, whether we agree with them or not.

The questions you are asking belong under Polls and Surveys, not Astronomy and Space. It should not surprise you to discover that the astronomy fans in this section find your questions obnoxious.
In the meantime, there is lots and lots of money that is being spent all over the world on evil purposes. For example, did you know that Sudan has plenty of oil revenue? And what does the government spend it on? They spend it on weapons to conduct racially motivated genocide against the people of Darfur! That devastated country is full of poor, unhealthy, uneducated and tortured people because its own government thinks racial extermination should be its national policy.
That the US, Europe, and Japan are choosing to invest a tiny fraction of their GDPs in research in the hopes that the knowledge will benefit both their populations and people around the world is hardly an issue compared to the true evils in the world!

You asked an argumentative question and got answered in kind. I don't see anything rude about that.
Calling someone a monkey, on the other hand, *is* rude. Or are you just trolling?

I thought his answer was good.
Why research anything? Perhaps you want to go back to the Middle Ages, where that kind of ignorance meant that your sister could be hung as a witch on flimsy evidence.
Perhaps you want to be like ignorant AL Qaida cannon fodder: boys and young men fed garbage about all the wonderful things that is waiting for them in heaven if they blow you and me to smithereens.
Education is the only way out of that kind of ignorance. And none of us can ever say what knowledge is useful and what isn't.
You cannot channel scientific research, and space is just one part of the total learning.

Have you ever heard the old saying:
"When you are arguing with and idiot - so is he."?
