we can ever have a close relationship. We're just so different, you know. All I know is that we can try to maintain a good relationship, but I dunno if I can trust that she can understand my personality. I mean I'm calm and mellow, and she's wild and excited--she's fire and moves along quickly, and I'm down to earth.

Part of increasing the bond between people is finaly getting close enough to understand the "why" they are the way they are. Or at the very least talk about it. Knowing this is part of being comfrontable with an individual. Usually the best path to this is thru the past, talking about it, relating it, answering for it, which happens alot between kiddos and parents. Also sometimes we have to give frist what we want the most, so understanding this in yourself can help alot towards that. Really this is going to be almost impossible due mostly to the way our society is set up, and that it doesn't encourge this sort of interaction on any pleateu but the most shallowest. So really unless you can look beyond some of the culturally except ways of handling this senerio your going to make the classic mistakes and figure she'll never understand you and you'll never understand her, which isn't the truth, unless you let it be.....

Why not try to find something that both of you enjoy doing together?

My mom passed away last year and I see how important it is to spend time with the people you love for some day they won't be around.
