What a shame I have to leave out opera, because Don Giovanni is one of the greatest products of Western Civilization, next to Scotch Whiskey. And do you consider the Requiem an oratorio?

Leaving out those two here are my 5 favorites (I don't have the arrogance to say that they are his best):

Symphony #41 in C (Jupiter)
Symphony #38 in D (Prague)
Piano Concerto #20 in d minor
Symphony #36 in C (Linz)
Piano Sonata In c minor, K 457

Oh dear, I have run out of options -- I wanted to include the 35th Symphony, the Piano Sonata in F K 332, the 40th Symphony.....there is also an amusing baritone aria that I just love called "Wer Hungrig Bei der Taffel Setzt", (don't know the K number) and of course the world's most perfect motet "Ave Verum Corpus" K 618

In no particular order:

Piano Concerto No. 20, K.466
Serenade for Winds, K.388
Sinfonia Concertante for Violin & Viola, K.364
Piano Sonata K.330
Sonata for Two Pianos K.448
String Quartets K.589 & 590
Clarinet Concerto K.622
Symphony No.39, K.543

It pains me not to add another nine or ten, but I'll force myself to stop here.

Symphonies # 29, 39, 40, 41, and the string quartet K 465, "the dissonant"

Personal opinion or preferance only, and one thing I can guarantee is that the list will be different tomorrow.

I'm not a classical music aficionado like probably a lot of people on this forum. But I do like Symphony 40 in G minor (1st movement), which is probably his most well known work. I also really enjoy the Serenade no. 10 in B flat (Third Movement).

Horn concertos, piano trios, clarinet concertos, Symphony #40, string quartets. Mozart's work is all wonderful, and I wouldn't know what to leave out.

the Hunt String Quartet (all of the quartets dedicated to Haydn)
Symphony #40
the Flute Quartets
Jupiter symphony
and after all these years (at least 30) of playing it I still love Eine Kleine Nachtmusik

Certainly the Clarinet Quintet - I'll leave the symphonies for now if you don't mind but I suppose the last three would be there and ... I *think* it's 25 but may be 28 ! Haydn is the better symphonist for me - less played unfortuneately.

Honestly, I'm not really all that much of a Mozart fan (gasp!), but I do like the fantasias he wrote for piano solo.
