I am suspect of anyone who allows mythology to completely run their lives. Be they Christian, Hindi or Muslim etc. The difference being the other religions don't have a segment that want me to convert or die.

Americans or any other national don't tag Muslims as such, but it is in the mind of hard line Muslims that they are being targetted under terrorism act. Nothing of this sort happens ion general. It is just that it is the era of Islamic terrorism so they are scanned more vigorously than others for security reason. This should have no problem for a moderate Muslim

If we where talking about G Bush, probably that they come from a country called Muslamia, however moving on from Bush bashing, I suspect that a large nearly all section of American society will be able to see that just because someone is Muslim doesn't make them a terrorist subject, and that they are just the same as themselves they just practise a different religion. I think the problem is not just in America but universally, the fact that people can't seperate Muslims, and hardcore extremists who believe they are following an islamic life and following Allah.
Beign a Muslim doesn't make you a terrorist, they warp there religion to make them feel they are doing the right thing, when in actual fact they are just blackening the religion world wide with terrorism.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I constantly wonder where on earth the moderate Muslims are. There has not been much outcry against terrorism from moderate Muslims - why?
And why are they so scared of women?
Charlie - does this mean you will be sending us back the aid I'm sure we've provided your country? Or paying us back for any military action we've taken in the past to save your sorry ***? Bravo!! I'll be sure to watch the media for that story.

Same as I think of members of any religion. There are good ones and bad ones, those who are familiar with the texts and those who take the word of others, those who are muslim because they believe it, and those who are muslim because they were told to be. Any religion has a wide variety of people in it, and I choose to get my first impression from the PERSON, not from a stereotype of their religion. I personally have never met a muslim who agreed with terrorism, if that's what you're asking.

Form our PoV, there are really two distinct sorts of Muslims.
There's the ones we know - friends, co-workers, bosses, employees, customers, professionals, and so forth - who seem like nice, friendly, capable all-around good people.
Then there's the ones we see on the news. Suicide bombers, terrorists, mad despots, racists, anti-semites, conspiracy theorists, protestors calling us the Great Satan and apolotists for all the above. Oh, yes, and victims of all the above, as well. Blown to bits, terrorized, and oppressed by thier muslim brothers.

I have noticed recently Muslims become instantaneously nervous, when I mention the word, Muslim.
When I say to them I have a friend from the middle east and he's one of the kindest people I've met (which is true), they become relaxed and very kind.
Poor innocent Muslims..
They need trust from others as much as you do.

Americans are quite divided on the subject and opinions vary greatly from one end of the spectrum to another. Some Americans are Muslim and regard the religion highly. Others think anyone who has even thought of praying to Allah must be a terrorist. And many many people are somewhere in between.

I lived in a Muslim country for a year and found the people very nice. We didn't discuss religion. I was free to practice my religion and was not hassled. They merely were good people trying to do the best they could to rear their children and live a good life. They basically were no different than us. Unfortunately the radicals have given Islam a bad reputation.
