ok well my question is do you have to be 18 or 21 to be considered a guardian in a movie theater? i am 23 by the way but i forgot my ID yesterday and me and my bf (who is 19) wanted to watch a rated R movie but they didn't let us in because they said they needed to see both of our ID's and then we said that he's over 18 but then they told us that he needs to be 21. is this correct? ok thanks

You have to be 21 to be a guardian other wise IF the age was 18 then any group of friends can get in and have at least one 18 year old but since that's not happening you need to have an actual adult.

Sorry

More theater's are requiring ID because of some state laws that consider "R" movies Not for minors! alway have ID when yu turn 18 it is the law to carry ID< primarily for medical reasons most hospital wont treat minors till an adult can sign for them.

Depending on where you live the age is different in certain areas of the country. Like where I live you have to be 18 to be a guardian.

Technically you have to be 21 to get in and I heard your aloud to bring someone who is 19. I think you should be aloud to bring someone who is 19 because there not a teenager anymore really

That's correct. "Adult" refers to the "legal drinking age."
You're old enough to drink, but your boyfriend isn't. So,
if you weren't able to prove your age to the folks at the
box office, they weren't required to accept your boy
friend's ID card.
