Google 'four-hole ocarina' or 'songbird ocarina'. A good ceramic one might be $20-40. A cheap plastic one might be $10, but even a crappy plastic one will serve to learn to play the thing, and then you can go out and invest in a ceramic one. A songbird ocarina is really a very limited instrument. It makes about an octave, which is less range than the human voice, so even though it's designed to play songs, there are some songs it can't play. I think a recorder or pennywhistle would be a better instrument to learn. (But then they don't have that nice sound of the ocarina).
