YES! Never pour grease down a drain. Garbage disposal is for chopping solids only. Dispose of grease by letting it solidify, then put it in empty jars, or wrap it in old newspaper. We save all those plastic bags we get from the grocery to put grease, gravy, coffee grounds, egg shells, etc, into, then dispose of it in the regular garbage.

You should never pour grease down the drain. It will clog up usually in the p-trap, if it clogs up farther down the pipe it could be harder to clean out, cause if you use a drain snake, sometimes it goes through the grease and closes back. Chemicals always bad for the pipes......
Best to just pour in a tin can, toss it in the garbage when full........You can also use bacon grease in cooking......

yes it will do not ever do that unless you are made of money the best thing that you can do is let the bacon grease harden then take a spoon or spatula to take out almost all grease and then dump it into garbage all that garbage disposals are good for is just making bigger left overs into smaller particles so that it can travel down your drain pipes greasy / fatty stuff would then harden into your drain pipes then clog your drain pipes up then it will cost a lot of money to hire a plumber to fix it all

It's best not to pour large amounts of grease down the drain. It will begin to build along the pipes, just like cholesterol builds inside a person's arteries until clogs occur. If you pour grease in a drain run hot water with it to keep it liquid for as long as possible. Every once in awhile pour baking soda, then white vinegar in your drain and let sit for a half hour. Then rinse with a gallon or two of boiling water to reduce gunk in the drains. If you have PVC drain pipes, don't pour boiling water, just use hot water.

grease is what sticks to your drain to make them clog and cath dirt and food,NEVER use hot water when running a disposal only cold(in the instructions) the blades expand no good... depends on how old your drains are if its pvc or copper or galvanized or have they clogged before,if they have clogged in the last few years it is likely they will clog again and grease wont help....if they havent ever clogged then maybe you will get lucky but i wouldnt toss it in garbage disposal cause you may be looking to have a problem good luck tina

I don't know if there is a lot of truth to this but I have heard about it a lot.

Mix the grease with dish soap and water then dump it. The soap emulsifies it. Do it at your own risk though.

the grease will harden in the sink when it cools off. try pulling the p-trap off and cleaning it out. that should fix the problem. if not, try boiling water. dont bother with drano, that crap is a ripoff.
