I have a netgear router 54 mbps wireless router anyways i want to lock it so that you need to put in a password to use my internet and i want to change the name too from netgear to something cool any help???

Visit http://192.168.1.1 to access your router control panel.
Go to the wireless security section and enable encryption.
I recommend using WPA-PSK.

You should find SSID in the wireless settings of your router in the same place you configure wireless security
