I can only assume you are talking about a marker such as a Sharpie, when you say "permanent." I use this type of marker every day for one reason or another and when a mistake is made, it can present a problem. While I haven't had any correction that were a part of a stained floor, I have been faced with 'accept it' or 'fix it' on nearly every other surface. Honestly, the most effective way to weaken the permanent status of this ink is by using it against itself. By using the same kind of marker as an eraser (of sorts) in very small sections and quickly wiping away, you can usually remove the vast majority. When I have had problems on a porous surface and cannot remove my mistake, I've come up with a method of correction. I call it "Grayout" and it works most every time the way "Whiteout" corrects typing errors. If my pen used black ink and I misspelled a work, I use a Sharpie metallic silver in the same type of eraser method without wiping and it normally blends fair enough that I can make my correction with little notability. I assume my little theory is simply a means of re-liquefying the ink which makes it easy to remove. I think it'll work on your floor as well but try a small section to make sure. The chemicals in permanent ink may dull the luster of your floor. Good Luck.

In my experience I have found 2 things that take permanent marker off. Either Soft Scrub or Mr Clean magic eraser. Both of these work wonders for removing permanent marker. Try these and I guarantee it will remove it. Good Luck
Also be careful. Some of the things other people are suggesting WILL ruin your floor. Dont use anything too harsh.

All Solutions that remove permanent marker will also remove stain. So, you might as well do the whole floor.
Home Depot is selling a product called "Goof Off" (about $5 per can) that will remove mostly everything that stick on a hard surface including gums/stickers/permanent marker ......but will not damage most paint. For doing the whole floor use "simple green" - Costco just started selling them at about $9.50 per gallon.

Sorry Hanna,
the whole point of permanent is to remain a long time...
with your stained concrete it's the perfect material for this type of writing system to work on :(
Whatever you find to remove it - and there are plenty of them, they're almost all going to remove the stain out of your floor too!
The only thing I can think of that might help would be Mr. Clean or Pine Sol or Mean Green cleaner Ect. straight out of the bottle!!
It may work or not but what your hands in any case okay?
I think the Mean Green cleaner is by far the best I've ever come across - if you have it where you live?
Best of luck! Dave :)

Well apparently you don't want to take off the brown stain so nail polish doesn't seem to be working. Hairspray ( like the holding kind...Suave worked for me ) actually takes permanent marker off real good. If that's too strong too then go with rubbing alcohol. It might fade it a little.

The answer has already been put on here, but I will restate. Use a "dry erase" marker. scribble over the perm marker then wipe away. I have had to do this hundreds of times, 3 kids, and in my center I had a room that was wall to wall white boards. Occasionally some genius would write with w perm marker, and that's how it would be taken off, by just using a dry erase over top of it.

I have a good product that will help you in your home to go mchemical free and green at the same time. It is called Shaklee Basic H. it is the best cleaner I have ever used. You can put 1 drop, no more , in a quart of water and it will clean better than windex.. You can mi up a spray bottle with a 1/4 teaspoon in a pint of water, and spray on your magic marker and it will clean it off. This product goes on the NASA missions. It went to the moon. and it is safe and cleans very well. I use it on my hands when I work on my lawn mower or car.. I dilute it and wash the grease right off. It amazes me what it can do. go to Shaklee .com and you can also search 1001 uses for Basic H , on the web..

Try an all purpose adhesive remover from 3M-- it will look something like this http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?66666UuZjcFSLXTtlxT2L8TcEV76EbHSHVs6EVs6E666666-- it has a strong scent to it (like gas) but it should work. Ive used a similar product called Solve-It from BG, and it has removed permanent marker. Unfortunately they don't sell their products to the average consumer, usually only businesses. The 3M product should be available at any hardware store or paint shop. Or you can buy a small can of stain or paint and cover it up that way; take in a sample of the paint and they should be able to match it. Good luck!

I had a tile floor once where I used permanent marker in a project. I removed it with a whole bottle of rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush. Of course I had a nice clean white ring on my floor. I used it on other things too, glass and what not. For some reason rubbing alcohol is good cleaner for even stuck on.
