I'm considering buying it and it has 80k miles on it. Is this a good deal you think? I know what edmunds.com and the like say but I'm looking for opinions. Also, what should be my first counter-offer?

I think its a great price depending on your market. I live in Philadelphia and the auto market is much more pricier than other areas. I bought a 2002 lancer this past February for $5000 and it had 75k.

Everyone told me what a great deal it was. I love my car.

Is a bargain. Common fellas you gotta class vehicles with vehicles they compete with, and A Lancer is the best in its class, as a side note. Someone talking here about Mitsubishi and saying they have been to Japan, buddy Mitsubishi is the Ferrari of Japan. You only know what 3 or maybe 5 Mitsubishi's for the North American Market. If you have ever hear of R34 or R32's well Mitsubishi has vehicles tree times as fast and better looking. Just like Corvett's in North America own the road so do Mitsubishi's in Japan. Get some schooling in Cars pal before you decide to yap away. Just look at their warranty 100,000 miles or 160,000 kilometers 10 years. Do you think companies only advertise the warranties for show, compere to BMW's 40,000 miles or 60,000 kilometers. Compare their quality and reliability and you will see that a BMW is much expensive and less reliable than the cheapes Mitsubishi. LEARN BEFORE YOU YAP!

Not too bad for a 2002 with 80k miles. Try offering $3300 to start and make your way up from there.

Crap cars are always cheap and Mitsubishi is a crap car built by a crap company. I wouldn't buy their cars or anything else they make.
