The Observer
Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..
A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.
The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.
'Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life,' concludes the Pentagon analysis.

It's pretty sad that the Pentagon and our idiot of a president acknowledge the reality of global warming, yet so many conservatives still deny it.

I wouldn't worry about it, the Government seems to be in constant struggle with one of the 2 main parties trying to turn America into their own image. They are just as human as we are, they screw up, make mistakes, and plea-bargan.
But, lets consider reality. Why was the supposed 'hole' in the ozone, a big 80's controversy, the largest during a 1956 expedition....yet no one used CFC,s back then ? Why has the media in the past 100 years gone through 2 cycles of the earth heating, then cooling, then heating again ? Time magazine even had a picture of Manhattan under a glacier. Its all a con job. Is the Earth heating up...perhaps, I think there's enough science to prove at least that much. The real question is, is it a normal cycle ? or is it actually going to cause problems. I think History show's that it is a normal cycle and that Corporate America is jumping on the band wagon to make a buck. History proves that man's impact on the world is minimal. I don't see acid rain everywhere, yet volcano's contribute the majority of it. Yet, some fool wants us to control our contribution, everything from coal power plants to BBQ grilling. I say be wise, keep a weathered eye on the skies and be mindful we don't have the license to pollute, but don't believe the hype.Chicken little never solved any problems.

So called Neo Cons are much too smart to believe a load of BS like that. The prediction is the temp. may - I say may- rise as much as 2 degrees in the next 100 years. How that translates into this apocalipse you describe is a little obscure.
Besides all that I would not worry. 30 Years ago all the chicken littles were screaming about the coming ice age. 30 years from now they will probably do it again.

I think crap happens. I think it has happened in the past and will happen again. I think global warming is a natural event that while man may aggravate it some, really has no power over it.

I know for a fact that it is not yet as hot as when the vikings settled Greenland, the temperature rises they claim is coming will barely get us to that level and despite what all the chicken littles cry about, Florida was not underwater then, I doubt it will go under any time soon.

hi Chi. i won't be able to communicate for each conservative, of course, yet i don't deny worldwide warming. That suggested: a million) In Congressional testimony, the learn team set up by skill of Congress says guy motives 20% of world warming, at maximum suitable. Now, they say it quite is that this 20% it is the "tipping" margin, as we in basic terms contributed 5 or 6% a hundred years in the past. None the fewer, even the pro-theorists renowned human beings are not the main effective contributor to worldwide warming, yet in basic terms the substantial margin contributor. 2) i'm not confident, by skill of any skill, worldwide warming does not be happening whether human beings in no way had existed. The earth is going by way of cycles, super and small, warming and cooling. the reality that we are registering a warming now, and what's inflicting that, are in no way definitive. 3) we've not sufficient geological and atmospheric historic previous to correctly Gage what's inflicting the warning. we can in basic terms provide our maximum suitable "guess". Now, in some issues our maximum suitable guess is incredibly sturdy, yet with worldwide climate replace, we've not sufficient intense historic know-how to even provide our maximum suitable guess too lots credibility. that all and sundry suggested, we could constantly all do what we can, regardless of the reality that not in an alarmist style, to lessen human-originating carbon emissions. we could constantly additionally look at what shall we particularly do to lessen different than human carbon emissions, because 80% of carbon emissions at the instant are not of human beginning. actually, however, my guess is maximum conservatives do not even understand that the communicate isn't whether that's happening or not (it quite is, maximum actual), yet quite what's inflicting it, and how lots we, as human beings, are in charge for. And, possibly maximum severely, how lots of a unfavourable result that warming might reason. The Al Gore followers think of lots, yet even the pro-theorists at the instant are asserting his perspectives are alarmist, and, maximum in all likelihood, exagerated to a worst-case situation, which isn't the main statistically in all likelihood situation. Take care-
