The most importan hour in your life is the one you're living right now. The most important person in your life is the one you're speaking to at this moment - Monk's Proverb

I agree. This is a universal truth. That is to say it is true in all cases for everyone.

Those who don't believe it, try ignoring the guy who is holding a knife to your throat and demanding your wallet! You've really got to pay attention to what's happening AND be nice to that guy.

Hum............. well if answering this question was leading me down a path that was life changing I would agree. About the hour Im living right now...... well yeah its important because you breath moment by moment. Is anything important going on? No because Im answering questions on yahoo answers.

The Monks didnt have yahoo when they made that proverb. People used to have to talk and walk and think ...deep thoughts on a daily and moment by moment basis.

Actually the most important time of life is the time of death. Why because what ever ones consciousness is at the time of deat they are sure to get a suitable body in their next life. But it takes a lifetime to realize our true highest self. How by first realizing we are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies.
This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life they can return to the eternal Kingdom where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. So if we are in the moment of God consciousness then we are actually in the moment. Otherwise we could be in illusion in the moment and no actual good can come from that.

Actually is this minute , this second , this very instant .. because is the only time in your entire live that you will be alive , the past you are not living it , is gone is only memories... the future has not happened yet is only assumptions , but this very second and minute is the only time you are feeling , living , breathing and doing some thing .And yes if you have a person in front of you ,is the most important person because is the only one that is listening to you .

First part: Yes, because what we CHOOSE to do (or NOT do) will shape our entire history - as this hour will be a part of our past once the next hour comes along...

Though it could be argued that the hour of our Birth (creation) or our Death (ascension to another plane of existence - or rebirth) is the most important!

Second point: Also true for a similar reason - as whatever you are talking about (even if you're just "shooting the sh*t") will affect your future actions ;););)
