I really don't thin one has anything to do with the other. People will do what they want to do. I seriously doubt that any sensible person will "act up" just becasue someone is treating them well.

Many who have studied Freudian and Pavlov theories/studies would say behaviors displayed have to do with your spouse's conditioning as a child. Therefore, it may not be a behavior that you can change.
There are many factors to be considered which are not limited to just your spouse's childhood.
It includes:
-the order of the person's birth in the family,
-experiences your spouse has had in previous amorous relationships,
-what has been observed in other people's relationships ie. comparing with the Joneses, etc.,
-the length of your relationship-keeping in mind that it's also not quantity but "quality" of the relationship-ie meaningful time together, but that is also left for interpretation on what is defined as "meaninful" by each person,
-your spouses expectations in a relationship.
I don't think I give you the exact answer you are looking for but it will get you thinking in the right direction to find a meaningful course of action.
Best wishes.

Sweet Pea I think it is the state of mind some people are in. I mean this may seem true but it really isn't. Some people are just angry no matter how much you try to love them. I really think it has alot to do how you are raised by your parents. Good luck!

Maybe they are missing you treating them good so figure they better give you more respect.
I believe we should always treat each other well and treat each other as if you may never see them again. Because, you know, it could be true.

sometimes when a spouse is to busy trying to give you things that you don't want it's a major turn off, because some people want your time not your gifts, for what ever reason

This is such a good question. I think that maybe it is because some like to challenge their happiness.
It never fails that when I would talk good of my husband then go home we fight. Go figure.....LOL

Thats not true.....
I need to find PROOF that they really want me, and not just by word sound and mouth...And if I begin to believe they do JUST a little then I might show them I care a little....
