I would like to find out how psychological and psychographic profiles are used to divide people into different groups, in terms of how their personalities affect how they make decisions. That is, are they quick decision makers, are they deliberative, etc. Are there are researchers who have done work in this field? Who are they? Why is their work interesting? Have they published any research papers or books?

You can't use psycholgy to figure people out, thats one of biggest misconceptions about the field. So let go of that, and besides that, until you understand YOURSELF enough to understand why thats true, the information isn't going to help you one way or another. Were interesting creatures, and that whole term of "free will" still stands no matter the individual, so you can NEVER be certain of the descion of any one type of personality would make, besides that psychology is broken up into 5 different schools, so pick your displine and then look to there own personal view of human personality, and then use that information, ONLY to understand yourself better. One you've done that you can better emphsise with people which well give you an ability kin to figuring people out, but its not figuring people out in the classic sense sorry, its a complicated field because its putting a mirror to a mirror, the perceptions are limitless!!
