Not now, but when I first came home from hospital after a knee replacement I found things ssooo hard. I was on 2 sticks and could not even carry a cup of coffee (sob) so my daughter moved in for a bit and did everything for me, Now I'm back on my feet I do everything for myself again. I hated feeling so helpless.

Like some of the others, I have my ups and downs, so it depends. For the most part I can do most everything, but when it IS a down time, my husband pretty much takes over. Fortunately, he's a pretty good cook and has no problem running the vac' or doing laundry. We usually shop together, but if he happens to be away and I do it myself, I have to admit that getting the bags into the house and then putting everything away can be a real chore. Like lilabner, we also have discovered Omaha Steaks and order when things are on special. At first I thought it was pricey and too much of a luxury, but the products are good and I enjoy the convenience now and then. We all deserve and need to spoil ourselves once in a while!

Schwan's yummm. They come to my office and to my house. Unfortunately, their yummy food is full of fats and sodium. Not heart healthy food except for their vegetables and unseasoned chicken and fish.

OK, I got off the subject... it must be the new hair. No, thank God, I do not need assistance yet. I watched my mother decline to the point of needing 99% assistance with everything. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It took away her independence and dignity.

No, not yet. I know there will come a time when I will though and I am sure I will adapt as you do, "sometimes." Great ideas! Thank you....I never thought of Schwans! I will remember when the time comes though!

I have good days and bad. When I shop I have a large nylon bag with a back strap on it and try not to buy more than I can fit in it as my back seems to be stronger than my arms lately and I need at least one free hand to unlock doors. I order many of my meats from Omaha Steaks, they send me an E of all the specials, that's when I order.

No, well maybe once a week when I carry 6 bags of groceries up 3 flights of stairs. Sometimes I can do it all at once but mostly I make 2 trips.
Other than that I'm hunky-dorey.

Those darn pill bottles with child proof lids, replacing light bulbs, opening bottles, jars of any kind, anything requiring reaching over shoulder height, or having fine motor skills and strong hands and fingers. Carrying anything weighing more than 5 lbs. Grocery shopping is hard for me.

live in a retirement community where everything is furnished including meals. if there is ever anything I want from the store there are Ladies who do the shopping for us ( personally hate shopping ) so can avoid these problems.

in regards to maintenance everything is taken care of as part of the package deal, so again have no worries about upkeep or expense.

Yes, and I have been fortunate to find people that when I ask them they are more than happy to help me when I need it. My husband is severly disabled and it gets extremely hard to get alot done around here without some muscle. So I have asked some other people if they wouldn't mind but I know it is a matter of time when I will have to more than likely move. I can do only so much myself.

i do have a problem with light repairs and things like hanging clean curtains. I dont do any online shopping, I still like to look and touch things I buy but I might have to look into that Omaha Steak site.
