Ignore them . The only dumb question is one you don't ask. We call my son the questionator...that is his superpower! And he is really smart and knows alot of stuff just from asking!

I tend to do alot of this, but it depends on the question and I do it for good reason. Take the Sociology question posted after this one: "Do all white people on YA hate Black people?"- That is the jist of it anyway.
There is nothing more ignorant than someone attacking a stereotype, by using a stereotype or in this case crying about racism with a racist comment. These idiots need called out!!! It's an old saying- Better to stay quiet and let people think you are an idiot, than to speak and prove it.
That being said, I do not attack anyone who is honestly searching for knowledge. There are some on this site who do. I would say the best way to curb the problem is analyze your question before you post it. I am not saying go over it for several minutes, but read it accouple of times and see that it makes sense.
There will still be those who criticize- but they are probably the ones posting the ignorant questions I talked about before. Don't let them make you feel stupid- they show their stupidity constantly.

Don't respond! People like that do that just for the satisfaction of knowing they got under your skin.
Don't give them the satisfaction. Just a thumbs down is passive agressive enough. Answer questions and don't do the same thing to others. There's too many bad vibes in the world for us to make more. Just send good ones out and ignore the bad ones that come at you.

What they are trying to do is to- make you look silly, make them look clever, make them the center of attention, make them more dominant.
To counteract these points- Don't act offended (stops you looking silly), pass it as it's their opinion, they'll usually address it as everyones opinion (stops them from looking clever, because the word opinion seperates their comments and stops them being fact).
Carry on asking your question (this will put you back into the light), but add more detail, maybe saying why it is a stupid question, but in a subtle way (shows that you arent afraid/less dominant to them, shifts the power back to you).

REMEMBER - there are no such thing as a dumb question - if you don't know something, is only dumb if you ASSUME or DON'T ask - - that is how you respond. People can't learn if they don't try to find answers.

Use a clever, witty comment to boggle their minds, and they'll be left so dumbfounded they would not realize what hit them in their noggin. Hehe!
Other than that, it's no use in responding to such comments at all. Don't feed the trolls!

Those are people with no manners, and lack of sensibility. They do not realize that if you asked the question, you are looking for help.
