So I need help. Here is my situation. I purchase a dodge stratus 03, 2.4L 4 cylinder, 76000 miles about a month ago. Great car drives nice, yeahda yeahda yeahda. Well yesterday as i drove home the car started to buckle then stop. Shoot!!!!. I got out of the car looked at the engine, but i konw nothing about cars so i had a friend help me push it to the side of the road and park it. I then called the dealership the next morning to have it towed their. later they called me a few hours ago informing me that the oil pan had a whole in it and that I needed a new engine for 2500, well that seemed fishy so i asked my wifes mechanic what he thought and he said that seemed not right. so now we are going tommarow to check it out. The dealership told me that the warrenty dosent cover it cause something like a rock cause it to leek the warrenty dosent say it wont cover anything like that so my family is all telling me that they have to fix it cause its under warrenty, are they right?

If a rock did hit your car, it is an insurance claim, not a warranty claim. Get a second opinion and go from there.

If it is a hole in the oil pan, then I think that they will say it was abused and not covered. With the age of the car and the miles on it, I'm not sure what warranty you are talking about.

I wish you good luck, but I would think that you will have to pay for the repair. If what the dealer said is true..

If in fact you hit something and caused the oil leak I know of no warranty companies that would cover that.
