All your old info is still on your hard drive. If the drive is making clicking or clunking noises, get help from a computer geek. Otherwise if you are a tad technical and have a second PC, remove your hard drive from the crashed computer, connect it as a slave to a working PC, create a folder on the good PC's drive such as C:\saved_data and copy the information from the crashed PCs drive to that C:\saved_data folder. Get someone who is qualified to look at your crashed PC to give you an idea what's wrong.

If it is the OS that crashed, easy, just repair it. If it is the HDD, pull it out and use as slave drive in another PC. If the files can be opened, move them immediately to the master drive. Burn them on CD. If the files are confirmed to be ok on the CD, you can delete the files on the master drive. Install a new hard drive on your PC and put back those files from the CD.
