When I first joined Yahoo Answers I was “categorically” promiscuous. I used to answer questions that I had some knowledge about regardless of the category. For the past 3 months I have been here primarily to try and maintain the balance of opinion expressed on a particular subject. So, what made you choose this category?

I just kinda jump around - answering things that interest me, I know the answer to, or just sound like fun...
Of course - I also try to squash any Trolls whenever they pop up ;););)

I started off with Politics and Government and News and Events because they interest me. The McCann case originally interested me a lot though most of the questions seem to be posted by people who have just woken up after 3 months or who post cheap abuse. Unfortunately, there is not much else to answer in this category at the moment, due to the prevalence of the unending McCann questions.
I shall stick it out because I feel I have got to know most of the people who post in this category so at least you know who to be vey wary of, particularly the trolls!
I still have a look at other sites because I am not a total nerd!

I am no point hunter or hunter of any other of these mindless glories. I just like to go through all categories and find at times people who are seriously looking for answers and then I try to oblige. Sometimes, when I get tired, I am short and maybe even a bit sarcastic (with humor), but never offensive.

Every time I go to Yahoo answers, the main questions are always like "Do you want to trade this pokemon?" or " Do you know how to rig a boat?" After reading a whole bunch of pointless questions, its a relief to answer some political or intellectual questions to which you can add your insight or opinion. I'm only 15 and I can't express my political views with anyone because my Mom is the only other person in my family who actually knows whats going on politically, and for some reason, she will never have any political debates with me!

i woke up one morning & saw a pic of Madeleine in the papers. She caught hold of my heart then & there (as do all missing children) and i went onto Yahoo search to find out more about her case. There, i read something about answers from real people. For about 2 weeks i read the answers on YA and found it intriguing. Am not a bit net savvy but decided to plunge in and created Faith.
The rest, as they say, is history!

Here I can stand up for what I believe in, however unpopular my opinion. It is tempting sometimes to swim with the tide but I can't. Like you I want to maintain the balance on a particular subject.

i 'stumbled' across q/a by chance and checked out the celeb category first.
i looked for the news section as i like to keep updated with what is going on, i joined the day before Madeleine disappeared and wanted to see what was being said about that.
never, did i imagine it would be so explosive on here, or that one story would provoke the emotion it has done.
