I am sorry you are so uncomfortable. Unfortunately a lot of times that is included in the job description for a Mom. :-) I know that does not make it better or easier, but so many of us have been there and can sympathize! I had toxemia with my first and had to be induced three weeks early because my BP and protein levels just got way too high. Bottom line, my baby was just not ready to come out, but had to. It was a horrible labor and delivery, again, because he just was NOT ready to come out. Not only was it incredibly hard on me and a good three months before I fully recovered, but it was rough on my little one as well and there were some touch and go moments. As uncomfortable as you are, if you are not in danger, the decision to induce is weighed against the safety of the baby. At this point, there needs to be a bit more cooking...35 weeks is just too early (imo) to induce without a really good reason.

****EDITED TO ADD***** I just thought more about the pain under your right breast. Would you say it could be desired as under your right rib cage? If so, that could be your liver. If you are pre-eclamptic, If the pre-eclampsia becomes more severe, swelling can occur in the liver, leading to severe pain under the right rib cage. Headaches/spots/etc., (like others have mentioned) are other signs in addition to severe swelling (limbs, face, etc.). Are you actually *IN* the hospital? If you are, I am sure they are keeping an eye on your protein levels in your urine. That along with other indications will alert them to severe pre-eclamptic problems. If you are not in the hospital, then I would call your doc ASAP. Not to scare you, but the possible liver pain is concerning.

Unless there is a serious medical reason, other then being uncomfortable, they will do everything they can to wait until 38 wks. At 38 wks the baby is fully developed and can breath on it's own without complications. This info about 38 wks is from 2 different OB nurses. It used to be 37 wks, but has been moved to 38 wks. Anywhere from 38-42 wks is considered full term now.
Even though it's uncomfortable and you miss your family you need to think of your unborn baby at this time. If they were that concerned with your health and the babies health they would do a c-section or induce labor. Hang in there.

Assuming the doc is fully aware of your issues, the only thing you can do is ask. The problem is, the baby's lungs are the last thing to develop so the longer the baby is in there, the better. If continuing the pregnancy is dangerous for you or the baby, I'm sure your doctor will try to induce labor. The product they use to induce labor only induces contractions though and doesn't necessarily mean it will make your cervix dialate any faster.

I sympathize! Really, I do!

I'm 39 weeks and 5 days and I also have gestational diabetes. I had a lot of problems from week 30-35, and it was pure HELL. I just wanted to not be pregnant anymore...But you know what? Your baby will come when she's ready.

Don't try to convince your doctor. If they aren't inducing you, then there's a reason. Especially at 35 weeks, your baby isn't ready.

Think of it this way...Would you want to be induced, have the baby, then they whisk her off and you don't even hear her cry and they tell you she's having problems?

I'd much rather be in agonizing pain for a few weeks longer, than for something to be wrong with my baby.

I'm sorry you are having so many issues with the pregnancy. I had several questions. First how high are the pressures, are there any proteins in the urine, are you seeing spots or having headaches and any pain in your right upper quadrant? (or is the pain in the boob) Have you always had Headaches or is this new for you?

What are your sugars like? How much insulin are you on?

Pressure on the low abdomen might just be from the baby's head.

At this point I would be concerned about you and would like you to be screened by labs for preeclampsia.

if they induce you now your child will have to be in the NICU and that can be very costly to you. If you can hold on for another week or even better two then the lungs will be fully developed and the baby's chances are much better. At 35 weeks I was completely uncomfortable too, but each day is a healthier baby. Hang in there and ask at 37 weeks you might get a better response.

Most doctors want you to stay pregnant until you are at least 36 weeks so that the baby's lungs are better developed. However, if your blood pressure & gestational diabetes is really out of whack, than they could induce you now. Hopefully the new hospital will be better equipped for handling patients with more difficult pregnancy.

Good luck.

I don't think it would be wise to induce right now, your baby isn't ready yet! Maybe at 37 weeks they will consider it, but right now it's still a little early! I'm sorry that you are having such a tough time, but one of the biggest parts of being a mom is sacrifice! Hopefully you can hang in there for a couple more weeks and then start talking induction...keep in mind, if you're induced too soon, your chances of ending up w/ a C-section are pretty high, so prepare yourself for that...especially considering your medical conditions! Best of luck and hang in there!

Inducing a affected person for convenience the place there are no longer any indications of dilation or ripening of the cervix, and the toddler isn't in any misery could make the approach very long and puzzling for the two the mother and the toddler, and in many circumstances leads to a c-section besides. if your cervix isn't doing something it skill which you and your toddler truly are not waiting to grant. There are issues they'd attempt to speed issues alongside - maximum of them regarding guy made prostaglandins and oxytocin - yet there is not any assure they're going to artwork. If the reason for hurrying issues alongside is in order that your husband can see the toddler, then in case you stability up each and all of the standards, a c-section could in all hazard be safer and much extra mushy for all of you. there is not any longer something "fishy" approximately it as different posters have mentioned.

Your baby is not ready to come yet. If he was born now he would be on ventilators, tons of tubes, and just not do well. It is much safer to wait.

I haven't had gestational diabetes, but the rest of what you describe is just a normal part of pregnancy. The headaches, pains in your rib cages, vaginal pain, pressure, all things most women experience. I am so sorry that you are hurting, but you are in the home stretch!!! Those last weeks are soooo long! Huge Hugs!!!
