x^2 + 7/8 - x/8
Factor out 1/8
(1/8)(8x^2 + 7 - x)
= (1/8)(8x^2 -x + 7)
There are no factors of 56 that add up to -1, so this cannot be factored more.
You could also write it as (8x^2 -x +7) / 8

multiply by 8
(8x^2+7-x)/8
(8x^2-x+7)/8

Use the quadratic formula.
x^2-x/8+ 7/8
a=1
b=1/8
c=7/8
