Ok so i went 4 my prenatal physical(so i thought) i told my family doc that i had some sharp pains in my belly and requested an ultrasound, he said let me examine you, he pushed on my stomach so hard i was crying, he then tells me it has nothing to do with my pregnancy and it's called positional pain(whatever that is). He won't send me for an ultrasound to even make sure my baby is ok and because i live in Hamilton Ontario Canada you need to have a family doctor make a referral to an OBGYN which he won't do. I want to report him for his conduct because when i asked him to stop pushing my belly he kept on doing it even when i tried to push his hand away, i feel like he was trying to make me miscarry or something.... What would you do if this happened to you? i'm also only 10 weeks pregnant.

this is my 4th pregnancy and this is NOT how it is supposed to feel, this doctor has never treated me before with any of my other pregnancies.

GO SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR!

If this was a good doctor, he would take your concerns into consideration and at least explain things to you. I was find another doctor ASAP.

My daughter just recently went through this. After switching clinics, she is so much happier. She is only 17 and kind of scared. At the first clinic, they would not really tell her anything or explain anything. Now at the new clinic, they spend as much time as she needs to answer any questions she has and explain everything they do along they way.

I have had three children, and now have my first grandchild on the way, any sharp pain is not good pain. Find a new doctor or even go directly to the ER. It might be nothing, but it might be something terrible.

Good luck! I hope all works out for you and your child.

Wow...I'm so sorry you've had such a terrible experience! I do think you should report him. Is there some way you can request a different doctor?? He sounds like a complete moron! Can you go to a hospital to get checked out as far as why you're having the pains?? Are the sharp pains mostly when you go from sitting to standing or when you change positions? If so, it may just be your muscles and ligaments stretching....Since this is your 4th pregnancy, your ligaments tend to soften much sooner than they did w/ previous pregnancies so you may feel discomforts you didn't have in the earlier pregnancies! But since you're worried (I would be too, you know your body!), I hope you can find a way to see a good doc that will listen to you! Best of luck!

It's the most important decision to make right now. You HAVE to be comfortable with your doctor. Start searching for a new one now, before they get too booked to accept new patients. You're still early enough along to skate a few months, if necessary. Make sure you have plenty of prenatal vitamins, and interview each new doctor thoroughly. Once they hear of your experience with Dr. Psycho, they'll be on their best behavior for you. Good luck, I hope the 4th one is as wondeful as the 1st.

Are you bleeding? Are you vomiting or experienceing anything more than morning sickness? Sometimes if you are not experiencing things like that as well as dizziness/lightheadedness, then they consider them positional pains due to the ligaments in you lower ab stretching. They do say that every pregnancy is different. If it continues and does not go away with rest and fluids, and he does nothing more, than I would change doctors.

There honestly isn't much he can do with you only being 10 weeks along. It's too early for a U/S in most cases and I think you are right around the time that a fetal heartbeat can even be detected.

Though uncomfortable the doctor will not hurt your baby, my doctors done it too and you think it ca harm you or the baby but it wont, thats just how it is done and how they are told to do it, I've been to two prenatal appointments and hat has happend both times, its not harmful if thats what you think me and my baby are fine!

Well I'd report him. I don't know the health care system in Canada, but can you change Dr.'s. Thats what I would do.
