Yes, it is a simple technique. A solid punch at the front of the chest compresses the heart making it skip a beat and causing heart failure in the dog. It was taught in army hand to hand combat training. The same can be done to a human if you know what you are doing.

Well yes, James is right on this one but I'm just mystified by the overtly moral objections to the idea on the basis of animal cruelty. You don't do this sort of thing unless you are being attacked by said large dog. Then it falls expressly under the realm of self defense. I'm not really sure the concept works but it has been taught to military personel. Even the military training specifies that the strike is to be taken when the dog jumps for your throat. So if you want to try it out I suggest you say goodbye to loved ones before you antagonize an alpha preditor into going for your throat.

Pretty frickin' stupid when you get more jail time for punching a dog than you would get for punching another person. The inmates are running the asylum!!!

I believe it, but if he does he will be charged with animal cruelty, he will also end up in jail. By the way what has your cousin got against animals? God gave us all the animals on earth for our benefit and happiness if we harm them in any way we will have to face our Father in heaven some day and then we will have to explain ourselves to Him why we did what we did to His animals. Would you want to place yourself in that position? Better let your cousin know before it is way too late...

Tell him to think Michael Vick. Your cousin is cruel if he is trying to hurt a dog. Report him to the ASPCA/SPCA.
