I have 2 kinds of fuel, one for the edger and one for the mower. the edger fuel has gas and oil mix and the mower just has gas. my mom accidentally put the edger fuel in the mower and tried to run it like normal. I drained out the edger fuel the best I could and then put the right fuel in there but it wont start. what are some suggestions on the best way to solve this problem.

Let the fuel you just put in sit for a while (oh, half hour), take it out and put new in again.

Also, take out the spark plug, clean with a wire brush if you have one (if not, just wipe it off with a rag), spray a little gas in the carb and that should do it.
Now it it'll smoke like mad for a while but it's just burning the oil from the wrong gas.

Hope this helps!

Id try cleaning the plug, to get it running, then change it once its running. Try purging the oil mix fuel out by dumping a bit of regular gasoline down the carb ( after removing the airfilter) - it should start and it'll smoke and cough, but it should run and shortly purge the wrong fuel out. Once it runs clear again, put the new plug in. Running some oil mix fuel thru the engine wont hurt it, it just wont run that good ( as you found out).

sounds like the fuel filter is clogged or the sparkplug is gummed up. Did the mower run at all with the oil mixture in it? I would think it should at least run, but just smoke alot. I dont have alot of expirence with 4 stroke mowers.

Remove the air filter and put a spoon full of gas in the airbox. Replace the filter and start it. Run it with clean gas until it stops smoking.
