Hi! I was in the food store and the women in front of me had two small children. She has obviously fallen on hard times. They would not take her food stamps and she was trying to see what she had monies for and what she did not. She was SOOOO embaresssed and I could tell she was about to cry as she tried to pick out what she could pay for and leave the rest behind. The kids looked so sad. As she put back any treats and just picked out cheap day old bread, marked down meat and a gallon of milk etc. I walked around and put everything in her cart on the belt. I told the cashier to ring it up and then went and stood behind her. I emptied my cart with hers, fresh fruit and veggies, chicken breasts, sirloin, tiolet tissue and female hygiene, real good bread and cans of tuna and tomato sauce and boxes of pasta and Mac and cheese. Ice cream and crispy cremes. I had other stuff as well. I told her to bag as I unloaded my cart. I asked her not to say a word. I paid for all of it and left. The look on the kids face was like is was Christmas was thanks enough. M

The nicest deed I did for myself. I learned how to love myself. This allows me to really be able to love other people.
I did a good deed for another person. I took care of her 24/7 for 8 years. I'm a nurse. She thrived those years, till it was time to say goodbye forever.

I use my GAU (only $300/month) and foodstamps (only $155/month) to buy food and clothing and other needs (such as personal-care items) for my fellow shelter-mates.
