After several bad experiences with doctors I've decided to deal with my health through alternative medicine. So where do I start?

First get a good basic book on healing from your library and keep looking at books there until you find one you want to purchase. Go online and search articles as well.Great book which shows all therapies in one book is NATURAL HEALING REMEDIES AND THERAPIES BY MARK EVANS.

I started with Andrew Weil's SPONTANEOUS HEALING which provides stories of the body's ability to heal itself.

Homeopathics are used as remedies to imbalances in the body . For example if you have a runny nose with impending cough, pick up a homeopathic from the health food store which will give your body the impetus to work on that issue. I use runny nose cough by HYLAND'S.

Natural healing involves research on what keeps the body in a balanced state of health. A good place to start is with APPLE CIDER VINEGAR by BRAGGS,,,,,,,,,,, mix a couple tbps with honey for sore throat..........and use a teasp in your lemon water throughout the day.........check it out online , it helps with arthritis gout and the heart as well.

I use no mainstream medicine by the way. even cuts can be healed with lavendar oil. saves lots of doctors bills of course.

If u need more help go to an OSTEOPATHIC DOCTOR, and get aromatherapeutic remedies and high grade herbals.
I was in a car accident and took TURMERIC/BOSWELLIA for inflammation, did saunas to detox, and used aromatherapy for pain.

Good luck and happy healing..ps im vegan lol

Go out and buy yourself a book such as The Health Almanac, usually around $40.00 AUD but well worth the money. By doing this you will be able to eventually pinpoint minor ailments and hopefully prevent yourself from getting major disorders and retain your youth and vitality. This book will also give you detailed outlines on the functions of each vitamin, mineral, amino acid etc. in the human body, thus you will be in a vastly better position to maintain your own health and well being ........... :0)

GOOD LUCK

I would start with your diet. You may only need to add certain foods to your diet to be healthier. I drink Limu everyday. I have never felt better. It gives me so much energy and I sleep so much better.

I want to give you an example of what I mean. If you put diesel in a gas powered vehicle it would not go. It needs unleaded gasoline to go. So your body will work right if you feed it what it needs, vitamins and minerals. Limu has over 70 vitamins and minerals in it. That is why it is called the superfood. It is not a drug!!!!! It is a food. It has a nutrient in it that can't be found in any land based food and that is called fucoidan. There are over 675 studies done on fucoidan. Go to www.pubmed.gov to find out about them.

To find out more about limu go to www.healthygiftfromgod.com

majority of alternative medicine are quackery. So, buyer beware.

But I think you should elaborate on what is your problem that you doctors could not help you. Definitely don't buy into anything that is advertised on the infomercial. Waste of time and money.

You might want to consider an osteopath rather than an m.d. Look in the directory for a doctor with the initials, d.o. (or o.d., in some areas). They typically are medically trained, but are fully qualified to use alternative medicine's techniques and therapies.

Since you obviously have access to the Internet, I suggest you Goggle "Alternative Health Care" and your State Name. This should get you a list of places in your state that offer these services.

Seek to understand.

Health comes from the same word that gives us "holy." It's about being in balance and being complete.

Focus on health and that balance will follow.

I like the recommendations that you find a good Osteopathic Physician. ... There is one in Illinois who has created the most extensive web site for natural healing information on the internet. His name is Dr. Joseph Mercola and his web site is:
www.mercola.com ..... Check it out

Another option is to find a good Naturopathic Physician - - but whatever youi do,... educate yourself and most importantly learn how to live healthy, to prevent illness. Dr. Mercola's site will help you greatly with that.

BE WELL -
