Part 1
There is no off button that I know of; however, the following activities usually tone down the chattering:
1. Pull out an article related to the material being covered and have them read aloud.
2. Play the individual competition game. This can be vocabulary, common misspelled words, a word search or a crisscross puzzle to be completed within a certain time frame. Reward them with bonus points or a piece of candy.
3. Have them write down 10 -15 things that they have learned in your class. They should include what they liked and disliked the most.

No off button on little girls. But maybe little boys will make them shut up?

Yes, I'm still proud of United. They dominated both games against Reading and City but just failed to score. I hope they get out of this slump soon. Go United!!!

Unfortunately not. Give them something to do. Get them some paper and crayons and have them make you something. Give them a project.
