You might get lucky and have it work but most of the time you need to use the system restoration CD that came with that device. The OS installs a "Hardware Abstraction Layer" that abstracts the underlying hardware from the OS so that the OS appears the same on any hardware you have (i.e. Intel processor versus AMD processor, Asus motherboard versus MSI motherboard). The system restoration disk provided by eMachine will probably not match your NetVista system and you'll have very little luck getting it to work, or you'll wish you just did a proper install to start.

relies upon, in case you may separate the documents interior the folder suggested as /I386 from the the remainder of the disc without wanting different documents collectively as working the setting up, you need to pull it off. in case you spot no itemizing named I386 on the disc, then you definately can not do it. If there is no I386 folder, often they have a custom compression format at that factor and getting the XP set up documents may well be extra durable than that is relatively worth (or worse that is Norton Ghost, which obliterates your actual stress and installs from Sector a million each and each of how out, Bootcamp overwritten, of direction.) if it is the case, you will ought to purchase it, and speedy: Retail copies of XP are to be discontinued on March 30, 2008.

Usually you can't use a disk that is for a different make of PC. They have safe guards on the disks that search for the make and model of the system.

Regarding format. It will delete EVERYTHING (saved files, system files, programs, games, everything). BE sure to get your drivers off the internet first (for XP, burn them on a CD or DVE) so that you can install them. You also want to be sure you have all your program disks. XP is just that... only the operating system. No office, no games nothing.

Yes, but you need to have a new validation key. That's the only down fall.
Think of reformatting, as repainting a wall. The other coat is still there. Reformatting does not erase your files. It only covers them up. If you want to delete everything you need a wipe utility.
But reformatting does render your system like new.

yep. i think you can use any xp disk to reformat, because it worked for me. only unique thing you need is your unique cd key.

make sure you backup your drivers before you reinstall/reformat because you wouldn't wanna have no sound and low screen resolution.
