using there imagination. do they not ponder on what existence actually is or is that just a "waist of time". when ever i ask if they believe in anything outside what we know/see etc.. they often say "whats the point, we will never know"
but i find it fascinating just to see what my imagination comes up with. i don't believe in any religion or god but i do find pleasure in asking myself questions. my brain comes up with amazing images and ideas as to what exactly we have in-front of us. like if there are different dimensions.
like reading about string theory and m-theory just amazed me as a child, the thought that we can only perceive the three spatial dimensions and have only knowledge of our travel through the 4th (time) really opened my mind. there could be so many more.
so do atheists ever ponder over these ideas and enjoy just trying to look into there minds. or is it a waist of time, and we would be better off just worrying about our own little world that we have made?

I think "people" use their imaginations and wonder about this kind of thing all the time.
That's what makes us unique.....it has nothing to do with Religious Beliefs or Non-Beliefs.

If the true definition of being a "Atheists" is a person that does not believe in GOD, then I might fit in to that Label.
This is why, I was born in the slums of the city, I recovered from a mild case of Polio at age 4, was a child with alcoholic divorced parents, sexually abused at age 6, left home at age 15 with a 7th grade education, lived on the streets for 3 years, joined Navy at 17 & did 2 tours in Viet-Nam, wounded, came home addicted to drugs, GOT CLEAN at age 27, married 3 times, 1st heart attack at age 54, quad by-pass, Hep C, COPD. Is that enough **** for 1 persom.
No regrets though, I have 3 beautiful chuldrenn, 8 grandchildren, the oppertunity to have anything I wanted in life, except for good health, I am 62 years old now, AM I AM STILL HERE.
I don't know the answer to " is there a God", all I know is there must be some HIGHER POWER looking after me, and there is a reason for my being. Thats all I need to know.
What gives this Atheists pleasure, JUST being pat of this wouderful exesitance we call LIFE.

The only difference between me and a Theist is that my mind will go even further in its image-ination.
The Theist will stop at 'god' and the boy cos he** is NOT free or doesn’t allow himself the freedom to go any further into possibilities and mysteries than are prescribed in the Goat Herders’ Guide to the Galaxy.
As an Atheist my mind has run free in any direction that interested it and some that didn't.
**English doesn’t have a unisex word unless it’s ‘it’ which seems a little too insulting, even for me

Yes. I am an atheist and I write novels, and I use my imagination a lot. So do believers - they like to imagine all the things you described in your question are down to this God person.

Alot the world's greatest philosphers, people who pondered things and looked deeply within their minds, were people who didn't believe in god. Atheists are just like regular people. They have imaginations too.

I always ponder the unknown. I don't have the blinders of religion to hold me back.. Anything is possible in this universe, just show me the proof and keep dreaming beyond the stars... Thanks to the scientists of this world, if it wasn't for them we'd still be living in a flat earth society.....

If you do not believe in God or religion, then wouldn't you describe yourself as an atheist? Kind of answers your own question doesn't it?
