Home birth question??

I'm really into having a natural home birth, do you have to have a doula or midwive? This may be a dumb question but I'm really unsure about how to go about a home birth, can anyone tell me how it works or any expiriences? Thanks!

No, you do not need to have a doula or midwife present though it is highly recommended that you do, especially if this is your first pregnancy. You can have a home birth as long as your doctor has not told you that you have a high risk pregnancy. Going through a doula or midwife would be the easiest way because they are experienced and have done this before. They can tell you what all of the supplies you will need and what you may experience with a home birth. And, if you do need help they would be on hand to offer you assistance or to tell you when it is time to consider going to the hospital should anything happen.

You dont need a doula or midwife present i dont think! my momss preggo with triplets and shes gonna have her home birth with ONly my around and im her only child and a 14 yr old boy. thats what were 90% sure were gonna do. shes birthing the babies vaginally so my hands are gonna b right there and there gunna come out right into my hands and ill give them to her right away were caling a doctor three hours after their born because we want the pregnancy, birth, and first hours of these babies to be just mother & son & babies.

all a doula is is a coach she cant deliver you and yes you need to have your doctor or a midwife present in case anything goes wrong. you cant plan for everything. its also not legal in the united states to deliver without a midwife or doctor present
