Wheel’s Bicycle shop advertised a bicycle for 15% off for a savings of $36. The bicycle did not sell so it was offered at a new 20% discount off the sale price.

1) 15% of the initial price was taken off, which resulted in a savings of $36. So 15% of the original price is $36. If "P" is the original price then this means 0.15*P = 36. Solve this for P.

2) They want the value of the discount (not the new price, but how much is now taken off). Take the value of P from step #1, and find 0.20*P
