She and I went to different high schools. We were kind of inseperable, but our seperate ways brought us to different paths. We hang out with different people, we have different lives, but once in awhile we message each other on a networking site (Facebook that is.) It really sucks because she was an amazing person who always listened to me, and respected my feelings. She was also very innocent back then, and the first time she did outrageous things that weren't so innocent =P, I felt sad that I wasn't hanging around her to witness all of it. We don't call each other anymore and she moved away, but at least we don't hate each others guts, like alot of former best friends I know do. Maybe one day we can catch up, when are lives are in check, and we are free. The sad thing is, I don't know if there will be anything now to conversate about unless it is repeated statements of "How are you?" and "I miss you," as it usually was when we used to try to catch up with each other during high school years.

He went on to a life of crime and his mom still thinks it's all because of me. And I grant you, maybe I wasn't always the best influence. I used to come up with some pretty wild ideas for Things To Do. But he committed his first felony years after my family moved to another town. I might have contributed to some sadly-gone-wrong capacity for creative self-actualization but I never taught him how to break into home or shoot a gun. We learned those things separately, years later.

She's still my best friend. We've known each other since kindergarten, and have gone to the same schools together ever since. Now we are going to college together.

Last I heard, he was a construction worker in Manhattan. Almost got himself killed. I know this because his name hit the NY papers in August 1998. A page 2 story!

We lost contact when we both went to separate High Schools. I haven't seen her since...it's amazing at how close we actually were and then everything just seemed to slip away. I still her her mom and sister around though...they tell me she's got a kid...surprising...we were supposed to be god-parents for each other...it's funny how things change.
