If you consider that everything we know or have opinions on has been taught to us throughout the ages, passed down from generation to generation, what we have been taught and what we 'know' has absolutely no connection to what the reality is. The reality is this: until we perceive the world without over analysing everything and everyone in it, peace on earth will never be possible. Our minds are our enemy. War and disruption is caused by opinions and the clashing of egos. So what can you do?
Important things to remember:
1. You are not your mind - it is a tool to be picked up and used, but not lived behind.
2. Focus your mental attention to the present moment. It is the only moment that has ever existed and ever will exist.
3. Problems arise when you focus your mental attention to the past and future. Now is the only moment that you should be focusing on.
4. No problems exist in the present moment.
5. You know you are in the Now when you feel at peace.
Be aware of how your mind works. This awareness is the best weapon we've got against our extinction from this planet.
Is peace on earth possible? Yes.

Peace, meaning the end of armed conflicts, does seem as something possible based on our overseas friends in the European Union. Less than a 70 years ago they were fighting wars against each other, the way they had for the previous 1000 years before that, and look at them now. I would not call it a perfect "peace", because Germans still call Brits "island monkeys", Brits call them in return "Krauts", French look down on the Germans as uncivilized Teutons and make fun of them, Belgians and Dutch tell jokes about one another... well, you get my point. But at least they have stopped thinking about invading the other guy or bombing their cities. The key here seems education and rule of law. Once you have those two, a country can "develop" and provide a relatively high living standard for all its people... and people living happy are people less likely to do aggressive things like, lets say, joining an extremist group, robbing or killing their neighbor, etc.
We are closest to global peace today than we have ever been in our entire history, thanks to good willed individuals in democratic countries, that are willing to teach the rest of the world how they made it that far.
Of course there are many individuals and groups naturally opposed to this, because war is a profiteering event for their organizations, but I believe that again, by education and rule of law, we can defeat those selfish interests and achieve and end to armed conflict and all the evils it brings.
Now, people will always have differences of opinions, it is natural. We are people, not clones or robots. Look at America, since the end of the civil war we have had an everlasting, non stopping conflict in Washington DC, a conflict of words fought in the Senate and the Congress between the different parties... it will always be so, and this is good, because that type of "conflict" is the one that makes a country progress.

I believe so. It may take a really long time for it to happen, but my hope is that eventually all of humanity will realize it. There has to be a big shift though. So many people I talk to say that yes of course they want World peace, but they also think that it is naive to think it will ever happen.
Until we remove ourselves from the idea that Peace is not possible, it will never happen. Also to me World Peace... is a world without wars or terrorism. I think that within humanity there will always be those who are just plain evil or unbalanced. That will never change... unfortunately.
:o) Be Well!

No.
Do you know why? we all have different DNA got different habits.
Even in the period of Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon and Mohammad was there peace on earth?. May be in some part but not on entire planet.
Therefore, I will say no not completely but partially.
One point advise*** Do not think about earth think about own heart. Is there peace? if not then try to be peaceful and one day by individual efforts there could be peace on Earth.

I have hope in humanity that peace on Earth would eventually be possible, but right now I really don't think it's going to happen soon.
As long as religion is around, good people will continue to do evil things in the name of their God.

No because conflict comes from people with different minds.
Thats why you see a lot of wars about religion and nations under different governments.
And people always want more things.
More land, more resources. Right now our government wants more oil.
unless everybody thinks the sameand people can learn to share then we may have peace .

I believe it is...If all evil vanishes, people will be at peace with each other.
But with all what's happening to people, you could say it is impossible. Evil is everywhere, but goodness could also be found anywhere.
I still have hope, and I still believe. It is possible. Peace be with you.

No.
People will always have some selfish reason to cause problems for others. Either through direct aggression or in response to passive aggression, people will most certainly have some reason to start a fight or conflict.
