That sounds more like geography than history, but here goes anyway. You find out the coordinates on a map. The globe is divided into lines of longitude (north-south) and latitude (east-west). The exact location of any place is where these lines intersect (cross) and the number of degrees north or south of the Equator, and east or west of the meridian of Greenwich (the imaginary line through England).

CIA World Fact Book
Maps of each country
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html
World map latitude and longitude
smaller version than below
http://go.hrw.com/atlas/norm_htm/world.htm
World map with longitude and latitude
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/world_maps/world_pol97.jpg
When tryping to pinpoint the exact location you must use the latitude and longitude lines for exact place.
If you look on the globe map on the center line is zero
This is marking the northern and southern hemisphere.
The zero at the top of the globe is marking prime meridian ....East from West
World Atlas.com
http://worldatlas.com/aatlas/imageg.htm
On this map I live
90 degrees west
on the 38th parallel
http://go.hrw.com/atlas/norm_htm/usa.htm
So look at the lines and the degrees and try to see where you live.
Practice practice practice
Hope you can understand it

I'd go with line of latitude and longitude...... but I don't know if that is what your teacher is looking for (the question is pretty vague to me).

Russia is and replaced right into a internet oil producer. Baku replaced into between the 1st areas of the worldwide to grow to be a petroleum production center. For the Soviets to expire of power is way less probably than for Russia to expire of foodstuff, a prior due summer time observed by ability of an early wintry climate could make for short rations in the U.S.. lots greater probably for them to paralyze worldwide oil flows and get ransom in the form of greater money for his or her oil than to snatch West Berlin as a hostage, this could have been accomplished by ability of cruise missiles fired into oil terminals in Saudi Arabia, Iran & Iraq, as properly as an attack on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. i don't see the TU-95s attempting Elmendorf and different US Air Bases without prep fires on those bases of a few variety. The Russians had a foul little trick stated as the Fractional Orbit Bombardment gadget (FOBS) that would positioned a "satellite tv for pc" in orbit that replaced into incredibly a nuclear weapon that would later de-orbit. this could enable an attitude from the south, incredibly than from the north the place our DEW replaced into aimed. That and the Soviets knew approximately EMP outcomes merely like we did. An EMP over Kansas could paralyze the US and reason us family individuals themes out the wazoo. Are we actually going to bypass distant places to combat while there is no electric power to ninety% of the yank inhabitants? in the e book 'The 0.33 worldwide conflict', there replaced into an incremental IRBM exchange, yet the two factors stopped wanting finished weapons launch. no person wanted that. incredibly than New Orleans, a civilian purpose, the US sub bases or substantial provider stations like Jacksonville, Pearl Harbor, San Diego, Bremerton, WA and Charleston, SC are probable greater effective objectives for a proportional reaction to Vladivostok and Murmansk in case you opt for an exchange it is ostensibly militia incredibly than going finished-on civilian.
