Save the Children and SSPCA (Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). I have asked for the last two Christmas that people donate a goat or chickens etc.(depending on the value of their gift) instead of giving me something. The only time this has been taken up was one of my daughters paid for 40 chickens to be sent to a third world community instead of buying us something for our wedding anniversary. I think most of us have more than we need already. I agree with previous contributor that the large charities are wasteful but I read of so many false charities where either none or a very small amount of the money collected actually gets used for charitable purposes.

I support "cancer research" as i have lost people close to me because of this diease, and it affects so many. Things have improved because of all the research, and a great many people are cured. I think its a really important charity.

There are a lot more charities that i would also support - but the one i mentioned is the one that i give to regularly and its top of my list.

I support all legit charities, but I particularly suppor Send a Cow and AquaBox because the items go strsight to the people that need them, not the government.
I also support Samaritans cos I've had to use them, and British Heart Foundation cos my grandad had a heart attack.

i don't support any charity that knocks on my door or stops me in the street. i support only one chosen charity of my choice which is one relating to a family member. i can't afford to support any more than that anyway, what with everyone else besides the charities demanding more and more of what little money i earn.

I support one which is helping orphans in Latin America (not quite sure how I got talked into that, but there we are). I would not support any of the big ones where their staff fly round the world first class and stay in 5 star hotels to go to big conferences (also in 5 star hotels) to discuss giving aid to the starving.
Was very interested to read about Aquabox and Send a Cow - I'm going to check those out.
Thanks for the Q.

i have always supported St.Jude children's hospital and paralyzed veterans of America and disabled veterans of America.i sometimes support the march of dimes and the humane society.i also help the christian Appalachian project which helps poor people in the united states.i think charity begins at home.i see nothing wrong with helping others but to do so and allow our own people to suffer is wrong.and i mean our people not people who are here illegally.i never support politics the money is better spent on people or animals that need it not self serving liars.

I'll support most medical charities. I won't support anything religious or to do with opposing animal testing FOR MEDICAL REASONS (Yeah, I agree they should test cosmetics on the stupid women who want them).

I don't routinely give to charity but the things I feel strongly for are, cruelty against animals, the elderly and poppy day - for all those who fought in the wars.

The chairty's i support are:

Childrens hospice- because i have know i little boy who died in a hospice

Cancer resarch- because i have known people who are or have suffered and died of cancer some on them are family.

Beat- Eating disorder chairty- because i am recovering from a ongoing Eating disorder myself i would like to help other people get the right help and support they need to beat this horrible disease before its to late.

the chairty i wouldent support

Animal chairites-- because the chairites get to much money, when human chairtys need it more. dont get me wrong i like animals but just think humans need more money and help than animals do.
