They're usually subscription service and its the 1st month that is free. You will find you need to give your bank details before you get to see your credit rating and if you want further information you will have to pay extra for that. I usually just look at the credit assessment then cancel it before the month is out. Its all down to getting you interested before reeling you in to get money from you.

Typically it's 'first month free' ... you have to sign up using a valid Credit/Debit card .. and cancel before they start taking money ..

.. also they only give you your rating eg 'you credit is bad, you have (5) outstanding debts and (2) defaults registered against you' .... in order to find out who has registered against you, it costs extra ... and then it turns out it's the previous people at your address and nothing to do with you anyway ..
