Wow, there are entirely way to many things to list...to start, how about the Interstate Highway, coastal barriers to protect homes, welfare, social security...the list is long.. here are a few.
They also go to public schools, roads, parks...

In the image of us Europeans, perhaps you pay taxes for the homeless and jobless people dying in the streets of NYC, LA, Washington and other metros?
We could compare this situation with the context of a third world country unfortunately.

If you cant figure out why WE pay taxes, you must collect welfare.
And if the Democrats had it their way, we would get rid of the military and give into the terrorist. They would have to because the US would get invaded in about 1 hour after the military was disassembled.

You have the greatest country on earth, if you are in the US. You have the benefit of protection by the military. You have income to pay taxes with. You are better off than the vast majority of people on earth.

Yeah, and don't forget those all important social programs such as Aid to Dependent Families (Welfare), On-enjoyment Insurance, Social Security, Government schools, and coming real soon is Universal Heath Care Tax. If you are a liberal, you have no leg to stand on complaining about taxes.
