Yes, I fear death every time I start to cross a busy street. You need that fear to get you across safely. No one in their right mind wants to die before their time. Other times, I don't think about it very much.

I contemplate death without fearing it. In the past I just feared it & did not want to think about it. My fear would motivate me to not think about death on any level, which in turn caused more fear. There is a lot of power to be gained in facing the fact that you will indeed one day die, not to mention a great deal of peace.

I have no fear of death yet I do contemplate it! To never think about death is to live in a world with rose colored glasses!
The fear people have of death is fear of the unknown! To have no fear of death is the certainty I have for the hereafter!

Children do.
Adults think too much and see too much.
I know I have seen death. It is not what people think of it when they are children. It is something completely different.
You think it is about the great unknown and in one sense it is but in another sense it is more to do with the great known.
When you are standing there in the great known staring in the eyes of death and thinking am I actually doing this, is this actually my life, can this really be me, what are people thinking you are fearing that you have lost that part of you that should be afraid of the great unknown.
You can read Nagle if that helps you to deal with your mortality, or you can just use your common sense.
And remember to make your arrangements in advance, a will, whatever you want so that somebody else doesn't have to do it for you.

The learned ego identity fears existential death more than physical death and in some cases will kill YOU rather than experience loss of its delusional identity. Which is why self-knowledge (contemplation) is so important in returning to an awareness of authentic being - 'observing' the ego thoughts and feelings as separate imprints.

why you say is it possible to fear death.. people are already living in fear of death only... that is why they try to catch the moment of joy, fun in sex, movie, chatting online, and all that ..
secondly one can not contemplate death.. as death is altogether a different experience.. and no one is here to validate how it is feeling like.. only mystics ,who have spiritually grown and remeber their past life can tell how it feels in death..
but to experience death one must experience life first...
and that happens only if one looks within..
whole Gestalt has to change and no one has time and patience to find that out... The Truth of Life

Some people, when they are young, do not think of the future. This is not to think they are immortal, more like living for the moment without thinking of long-term consequences. A mature adult can think of long-term consequences, is aware that he may die, can plan accordingly, and tries to make the most of a limited time on earth (namely, he seeks happiness). Such thing is common
