Don't automatically think it means nothing. Some engaged or married people wear their rings on their right hand. I wear my wedding ring on my right hand because my left hand starts tingling immediately. Must be a weird nerve or something. Also, quite a few people married in the Greek Orthodox church wear their rings on their right hands. My good friends were married in such a church, and they have their rings on their right hands.

Actually a ring on the right ring finger signifies marriage just like in America except for the opposite hand.
For cultures in Europe at least. Where I come from women and men wear their ring fingers on their right hand instead of their left.

It depends. In many parts of the world, it is the right hand, not the left hand, that has the "marriage finger." In fact, I believe that this is the case in most of the world, though I might be wrong about that.
I think North America and parts of Europe are the only ones that wear the wedding ring on the left hand.

As far as I know it has two special indications. One is that the person wearing the ring is a widow. The other is that in some foreign countries the wedding ring is always worn on the right hand.

Depends on what the ring is.
For example, when my cousin got engaged her husband (then fiance) initially was not going to buy her an engagement ring (as in a diamond) because it was his family's tradition (they are from Germany) to give the woman her wedding band which she would wear on her right ring finger until the vows and then the groom would switch it to her left ring finger.

In the States there is no significance. Women wear rings of their choice and are usually interchangeable according to what they are wearing. But in some other countries, the wedding rings are worn on the right hand.

Nothing...just that the person wants to wear a ring on their ring finger.

It is the European marriage ring finger. We are one of the few countries that puts the "marriage ring" on the left finger. Other times it can be a sign that someone is "promised" to marry someone but not exactly engaged.

usually a wedding band on the right ring finger is to signify a commitment between homosexuals, since marriage is banned in so many states.

Nothing in the U.S. but I have heard that people in other countries use the right instead of the left. I have a promise ring on my left because I felt that it would be so much more special when we marry to move it to my left hand with the wedding band.
