So I had some brown discharge and minor cramping about 2 weeks ago (I was 6 weeks) and went to the doctor. He did a sonogram...we saw the sac and he told me that he though e everything was okay but that the 1st trimester is difficult so that I needed to just take it easy. I have done that. This morning - I am now 8 weeks - I had more discharge. I was scared but I have an appt tomorrow for another ultrasound to see the baby's heartbeat. I just went to the bathroom and had a bit of discarge but there was also what looked like a bit of lining or something. Nothing that was globby (sorry for details) but it looked like a small piece of brown lining. Do you think I need to go to ER (my doctors office closes at 4pm on Mondays) or just wait for my appt tomorrow afternoon? If it is a miscarriage, there is nothing that can be done, right?

Has anyone else experienced this? I could use some encouraging words right now. Thanks,.

Rahter than driving yourself crazy, like I'm sure you are understanably, call your obgyns office and ask the answering service to get hold of him and have him call you. Thats what they are there for and they will let you know if you should be concerned or not. Everyones situation is different, so I wouldn't even take advice on yahoo answers on what the problem MIGHT be..find out for sure from you doctor he will know the best answeer to this. Good luck!

I understand that you are worried! I went throught almost the same thing. I was about 8 weeks and had had the globby, brown stuff. I of course was worried too! I went to the doctor all the time because of spotting and cramping. They always told me it was normal to spot a little. If you start bleeding like a regular period you should be concerned. Since it's so early in the pregnancy, your body still might be thinking you should have a period. That could cause the spotting and globs. Miscarriages usually have quite a bit of severe cramping and more than just discharge and brownish goo. I would just wait til your appointment tomorrow. I know it's easy to say. And also, since your only 8 weeks, if it is a miscarriage there isn't anything they can really do. God has a plan for you and that baby and I hope that things go well for you tomorrow. Once you hear that heartbeat, you will be the happiest momma in the world. Keep your head up. Im sure everything is fine. Just take it easy and keep your feet elevated and drink plenty of water. : ) Good Luck

It all sounds normal, but it scares the hell out of you. Yes, if you are going to have a miscarrage there is nothing you can do to prevent it, and nothing you do will cause it either. I had bleeding and discharge with all my pregnancies, I lost one baby at 19 weeks but have had 2 other sucessful pregnancies.
