The power appears to be out and the control pad doesn't work, unless i turn a burner knob on. It buzzes for a moment and then the lights come on and flash 12:00. It allows me to set the time, push bake and even set the heat. But no heat in the burner or oven, and if I turn the burner knob off, the whole thing goes dead again. Help, it conveniently happened when the warranty expired.

The first thing you need to do is to find the model number, it will be on a plate located somewhere on the range interior or possibly on the back of the unit. The model number will be a 3 digit number, a period, then a 5 or 6 digit number. Call Sears at 1 - 800 - 4 - MYHOME. Give them the model number and arrange for a Sears technician to come to the house (yes, there will be a charge if you didn't purchase one of their Protection agreements, which usually are 3 years minimum and cover all required repairs). Also, if you have your original Owners Manual, the model number will be on the front cover, much easier than hunting for it on the unit itself. Sears is usually competitive in service pricing, and will usually have the required replacement parts in stock.
