Q. What are the rings that they have on all the time for?
A. They are promise rings, they wear them as a promise that they will stay pure until marriage.

I happen to wear one of those rings... I don't call them promise rings though. They are chastity rings. That means that the people that wear them are not going to have sex with anyone until they get married. Traditionally, the chastity ring is worn on your left ring finger and isn't taken off until an engagement ring is put on, sometimes, not even then. Sometimes, when people who wear a chastity ring get married, they have their ring melted down and but into their spouse's wedding band so that he/she can have that part of them for the rest of their lives. Most people that wear them, wear them due to their religious beliefs, like me.

Staying pure means remaining a virgin (or at least abstaining from sexual intercourse) and fully committed to each other until a designated time. People usually say until marriage because that is what is instructed from the bible...also, a lot of different cultures/religions tend to subscribe to this.

Staying pure is a sight of faithfulness.
Most men don't want to many someone that has been around the block and back again. Those girls that are easy are most likely to not marry or not stay married

Pure means You stay "clean" "fresh" unlike a slut who would let anything take a dip. Also pure means your less likely to get an "itch" from some dude who thinks virginity is a crock.

a promise ring used to be something a guy gave a girl until he could afford to buy her an engagment ring.
I don't know anything about staying pure

staying pure is another way of describing virginity. Some people like to stay virgins until they are married for religious reasons.
