The line over the numbers mean that those numbers are repeated continously. Like in your example, the line over the 23 would mean that the answer is 2.23232323232323 ->
Another example would be 1/3 which is 0.33333333333 or 0.3 with a line over the 3.

i've not heard of a line as usually it's dots over the numbers. this means that those numbers are recurring so in this case it would be 2.23232323232323...

That is a repitan (I think that's how it's spelled) and it means the number goes on forever. Using your example, it would mean that the number would be equivalent to 2.2323232323232323232323 and so forth.
