For instance, if a game gets rained out in the 3rd inning, it obviously would be re-scheduled. But what about if it gets rained out in the 7th inning? Would they score it an actual final if someone is winning? Or how does it work? Thanks

in order for a game to be considered an official game, you must be in at least the bottom of the fifth. any game after the fifth could be considered an official game.

If the game has progressed to the middle of the 5th inning and the home team is ahead, the game is called as a win for the home team.
If the game has progressed to the end of the 5th inning and the visiting team is ahead then it is a win for the visiting team.

If they have not reached the 5th inning - they start all over again when the game is rescheduled - as if they did not play at all

If it is just a rain delay - they will pick up where they left off.

In order for a game to be official, 4-1/2 innings must have been played if the home team is ahead, and 5 innings if the visiting team is ahead. If there is a tie, the conclusion of the game is postponed and will be scheduled for another date.

if a game goes through the fifth inning it is called an offical game.
that way its over half a game total and both teams have the same ammount of opportunites.
if a game gets into the sixth inning and is called, the leading team will get the win.
if its a tie they would reschedule i believe.
in the case of a game that doesnt get into the 6th inning, a game would be rescheduled into a double header for one night, the next time the two teams meet.
if the two teams do not meet again during the regular season, a make up game will be scheduled

After the 5th inning it becomes an official game. This is the reason why at Cal Ripken, Jr.'s record-breaking 2,131st game, he had a ceremony between the 5th and 6th innnings because the game had become official and he was the champion.

yes it would be official unless its tied
once the 5th inning is completed it is a official game
if the home team is ahead its 4 1/2 innings
but if the away team is ahead the 5th must be completed

if the home team is leading after 5 and the away team had their at bats and it rains the home would win or visa versa
like in the orioles vs. yanks the yanks scored in the top of the 8th and they suspended the game until l;ater that happens too
