My son loves my Key Lime Pie. It's his absolute favorite, right after my Carrot Cake with my own form of Cream Cheese frosting.
And then there's the Chocolate Cream and Lemon Mer. Pies.
After that comes the homemade biscuits and gravy...........
Oh forget it, if I listed everything he loves in the way of food, I'd be typing for the next two weeks!

There are two from my days in the Navy, the names of which are totally alien without my explaining that origin.
First, is one I made for the four children while we were living in Japan. My wife had taken an R&R trip with the Wives' Club to Manilla. So, I put together breakfast steaks, with a slice of melted cheddar cheese, inside two slices of sourdough bread. To this day they are still known as "Mommy is in the Philippines" sandwiches.
The second one is my wife's invention and comes from the same era when I had officer of the day duty at the Naval Hospital. They are known as "Daddy Has the Duty" tacos.

Hey Gabby--the blue speckled bowl is granite ware!!
My kids liked it all--from shrimp to fried oysters to baked trout, steaks on the grill smothered in lemon and onion and garlic and course pepper, my cookies I would bake 4 doz. at a time, gone in a heart beat. I used to baste chicken on the grill with butter garlic and worchestershire always had to do 2 huge ones. They loved my home made noodles and chicken, pork roast and taters and carrots and gravy and a big shrimp salad. All are good cooks and one son still wants beet greens when he visits.

Eldest - pork roast and must have a side of mashed potatoes with corn piled on the top of that and then topped with butter
Middle Child - beef stroganoff
Youngest - beef stew
all - BBQ Ribs and stuffed cabbage..
I still make them all for them! (and they still all love them!)
Funnily enough a spouse asked for the 'favorite food' recipe. I gave it and they made it exactly the way I would have! The treated spouse said, hmmmmm close, but something isn't right....the part that wasn't right is Momma didn't make it! lol

My son and daughter are both in their early thirties. When they come home my son wants banana pudding from scratch. His dad's mother taught me how to make it years ago but she made it in a huge blue oval metal spotted pan. I don't remember the name of it but someone might. They are collectible today.
My daughter loves homemade biscuits and gravy. She says she can't make gravy but I think it's an excuse :) But I don't mind.

My son loves my German pancakes. They are cooked in a cast iron pan in the oven and seasoned with butter, powered sugar and lemon.
He is a vegetarian now, but still likes my Chinese chicken dish. I use firm tofu now. It's just a fresh vegetable stir-fry over rice, but I have a special motherly way of making it good just for him!

I used to cook up some pretty good BBQ chicken, and because I wanted them to have the best parts, I would always eat the back. They used to get mad at me because they thought that because I always saved the back for myself, it must have been the best part! Little did they know. Now, of course they laugh about it.

My oldest daughter loves spaghetti sauce made with mushroom soup instead of tomatoes. You pretty much make it just like you would if it was to be a tomatoe sauce, but substitute a couple of cans of condensed mushroom soup (Campbells) instead of the tomatoe.
And my youngest daughter's first real food was tomatoe sauce spaghetti. And it is still her favourite that I make. Especially if I make it from scratch using garden tomatoes.
