I work at a convenience store, and I sometimes feel like people think I'm a loser for that. What do you think...

I don't know if a lot of people look down on othres for having crappy jobs. I personally do not do that. I commend anyone who gets up and works hard for a living, no matter what the job (legal jobs). there are so many lazy bumbs in Amercica who sits on their butts, collecting welfare checks each month, when they know they are perfectly capable of working like everyone else. Those are the people who should be looked down upon. How could America function without the people who hand you your food through the drive-thru window and who hand you your change @ cash restisters?

First let me say I don't think you're a loser because you work at a convenience store, if someone thinks that about they are the looser, but yes people will look down on you because of your job, that's called being a conceited snob. You have a job, be proud of that. You pay your bills? Be proud of that. Are you a good person? Be proud of that. Don't let some jerk make you feel bad about yourself.

I don't. I've had quite a few crappy jobs myself. They're not much fun, and you do get looked down on by others sometimes, especially if they've never had to do that kind of thing. But, somebody's gotta do it, and if you're paying the bills, it's working for you right now. Keep looking for something better if you need more prestige.

I worked at SUBWAY for 2 years. Within those 2 year I pissed alot of people off by accidentally placing a pickle here, or too much mayonnaise there, or even for nothing. I had alot of "educated" people let me know I was a loser because I worked at subway. People will tell you not to let it get to you. But It Does! For me, I ended up hating my job and myself. People's negative remarks can really affect someone. So I decided to join the Army. Now people buy me drinks..lol. (for being in Iraq) And if I ever encountered one of them slime balls from my town that looked down on me for working at Subway, I would simply head butt them..lol. Seriously. Turn the negativeness into motivation...if you feel like a loser, its time to move on and better yourself. You know your not a bad person for where you work, but if people's comments are bugging you that bad, you know that you need to be somewhere else in life. Get on it!

Yeah I think people look down on people that work in so called crappy jobs. Those people need to realize that when they go to buy that Starbucks Frappucino, someone needs to be there to ring it up for them. So even people who have "crappy" jobs matter. At least you're employed and not sitting there expecting someone else to take care of you!

Yes, people do.

I don't understand how when almost everyone has to work at one of those crappy jobs at one point in their life (through college, when young, etc.). It's like we actually forget how much it sucks!

don't worry about what others think...this is what you should keep in mind...are these ppl paying your bills? do they take care of you? are they providing a roof over your head? no! so don't worry about what they have to say because they might have worse jobs....
